Kelly Rowland’s shock decision to go on tour midway through The X Factor has worried show bosses, if reports are to be believed.
The Destiny’s Child singer has agreed to support Chris Brown on his extensive 28-date tour of the US and Canada, which kicks off on 12 September and finishes just days before the live X Factor shows are due to begin.
According to The Mirror, show insiders are worried that the When Love Takes Over singer’s finalists will suffer without face-to-face time with their mentor. "Kelly is taking a real risk jetting off in the middle of her first series of The X Factor," a source is quoted in The Mirror. "Some of the cast and crew are worried she is not taking it seriously."
But an X Factor spokesperson has said the star would mentor her finalists from afar. "She plans to have regular Skype chats and phone calls while she's on tour," the rep explained.
On a brighter note, Kelly may have found love with songwriter Tim Weatherspoon, after they were spotted looking very happy together in Beverly Hills this week. It’s thought the pair met years ago after he worked on several tracks with Kelly’s bandmate Michelle Williams.
Kelly recently denied rumours that a Destiny's Child reunion was on the cards.
